If your home is repossessed, do you have to pay anything to the mortgage company, or do they just take your house & that’s the end of it?

I would like to know if you have a house repossessed in 2000 by a finance company and you don’t know how much they sold it for.

Can they come back and say that we did not recover the full monies from the house nine years later and try to get some more money out of you?
