Firstly, there has to be a legal reason for your home to be repossessed. Secondly, Your home can not be repossessed before a court hearing. Only a judge can decide to repossess your house, not your mortgage lender. What you do now may affect the judges decision.

Fast House Sale is also an Option
If it looks likely that your house will be repossessed, consider selling your house below market value through a fast house sale.

Most mortgage companies will allow you to work out some type of deal with them, even at the last possible moment. They may be able to offer you new possibilities that could even include them loaning you more money to clear your debts or starting a new payment plan. Even if you've gotten a court appearance letter, you should try to call your mortgage company.
